{"id":388,"date":"2021-03-22T19:33:50","date_gmt":"2021-03-22T19:33:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hamnettwealth.com\/news\/?p=388"},"modified":"2021-03-22T19:34:04","modified_gmt":"2021-03-22T19:34:04","slug":"hamnett-wealth-management-commits-to-the-financial-vulnerability-taskforce-charter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hamnettwealth.com\/news\/hamnett-wealth-management-commits-to-the-financial-vulnerability-taskforce-charter\/","title":{"rendered":"Hamnett Wealth Management Commits to the Financial Vulnerability Taskforce Charter"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hamnett Wealth Management has committed to the Financial Vulnerability Taskforce Charter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A newly created independent and inclusive representative body covering the personal finance sector, the Financial Vulnerability Taskforce is supported by the Personal Finance Society.\u00a0 Its ultimate purpose is to promote a greater understanding of vulnerability, encourage appropriate behaviours and establish good practice amongst personal finance professionals in respect of people who find themselves in vulnerable circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the heart of the initiative\nis a Charter which underpins the work of the Taskforce and sets out how\nprofessionals who commit to it, such as Hamnett Wealth Management, are expected\nto work with customers in vulnerable circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jonathan Rowley, Director of\nHamnett Wealth Management, said:&nbsp; \u201cSigning up to the Financial\nVulnerability Taskforce Chater means that people can be confident we will use\nour best endeavours to provide them with a service that recognises their unique\ncircumstances and delivers the same outcomes that they would expect if they\nwere not in vulnerable circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Advisers, financial planners\nand firms who adopt the Charter agree to abide by nine commitments: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Making advice easier to\nunderstand<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Placing your interests\nabove all else<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Understanding how your\ncircumstances might make you vulnerable<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Not making assumptions\nabout you<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Not labeling you<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. Dealing with you\nsensitively<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. Adapting processes and <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8. Ensuring staff are\nknowledgeable and appropriately trained<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9. Taking appropriate action\nif you are in harm\u2019s way<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jonathan continues: \u201cVulnerability is something that can affect us all; through unexpected events such as illness, loss of employment, divorce or even the sudden acquisition of wealth through inheritance or a lottery win.\u00a0 While some health issues can lead to permanent vulnerability, fortunately in most cases it is a temporary phenomenon.
